Privacy Policy

This policy covers the information Munch collects through this website and what happens to it. "Munch," "we," and "us" mean Munch, the burger shop at 1200 E 6th St in Austin, Texas.

We are a burger shop, not an advertising company. We collect what an order needs and not much else. We do not sell your information to anyone.

What we collect

What you hand us. When you place an order, sign up for the newsletter, or send a message, you give us some mix of your name, phone number, email address, delivery address, and whatever you write in the message box. Orders also include the items you picked and any notes about them, like a swap or an allergy.

What the site records on its own. Like most sites, ours logs your browser and device type, your rough location from your IP address, and which pages you opened. It tells us whether the menu works on your phone. It does not tell us who you are.

Card details. We never see or store your full card number. Payments run through a processor that handles the card directly and returns nothing to us but a confirmation and the last four digits.

What we do with it

We use what you give us to:

• Cook and hand over your order, and to call you if something about it is unclear
• Answer the questions you send us
• Send the newsletter, if you asked for it
• Keep the site working and fix what breaks

That is the whole list. We do not build profiles, and we do not run your details through anything that makes decisions about you.

Who else sees it

A few companies handle pieces of this for us, and they only get what their piece needs:

• Payment processor. Handles your card and nothing else.
• Delivery partners. If you order through a delivery app, that app runs the delivery and your details go to the driver under the app's own privacy policy, not ours.
• Email tool. Sends the newsletter. It gets your email address and nothing more.
• Hosting and analytics. Keep the site up and count visits.

We also share information when the law requires it, which in practice means a valid subpoena or a health department request.

Cookies

The site uses cookies to remember your cart between pages and to count visits. You can clear or block them in your browser settings. If you block them, the cart forgets what you added.

Your choices

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works right away. To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email hey@example.com and we will handle it within 30 days. Texas residents have these rights under state law, and we extend the same to everyone who asks.

We keep order records for seven years because tax rules require it. Everything else we delete when it stops being useful.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If your child sent us something, email us and it goes in the bin.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is a significant one, we will say so on the site.
